Why Servant21? First of all lets make this clear- it is not because I am a servant. I desire to be one; however, I am often to self-centered, self motivated and proud to truly be a servant. Just ask my wife who knows that I serve often out of self interest, fear of man, and simply to improve my reputation. With all that said servant hood and true service out of love are an integral component of the Christian life and Church.
Jesus is our great example- not only did He teach us to serve He manifested true service through love. Take a moment and search servant in the New Testament and you will see that for Jesus service was more than a pop culture word to sell books on servant leadership. It was a way of life that was alien to those He came to serve. From the sons of Zebedees’ request to the washing of the feet, Jesus taught and lived biblical servanthood. The purpose of this blog is simply to share my thoughts on the Christian life to allow others to comment and instruct me. I hope that this blog serves you in your Christian walk.
